PROBLEM STATEMENT

Surfers need a way to hydrate without paddling to shore

Context

Surfing combines long stretches of waiting with short bursts of action. It’s during these idle periods in open water and direct sun that dehydration takes the greatest toll.

FORM LANGUAGE

Directional flow | Aerodynamic cues | Taut surfaces | Biomorphic influences

Turning to nature for inspiration: The Remora

The symbiotic relationship between the remora and its host inspired the connection I aimed to create between the surfer and the bottle

IDEATION

Concepts that preserve mobility and hydrodynamics

EXPLORATION

Rapid Prototyping to define proportions and touchpoints

FINAL DESIGN

A refined form that combines performance and ocean-centric values

No Contact Nozzle

The squeezable RPP body lets users hydrate without touching the nozzle, using a one-way valve for clean, effortless drinking.
